Binissalem and Pla i Llevant Wineries
Despite their limited distribution in comparison to other wines, Mallorca has a long wine tradition that dates back to the Roman times. It is precisely that fact that gives Mallorca’s wines their quality and charm. Mallorca’s wines include whites, reds, dry and fresh muscatels.
The island has two Designation of Origins: Binissalem and Pla i Llevant, but vines are grown on many other parts of the island, such as the Sierra deTramontana. Some of Mallorca’s most famous wineries with Designation of Origin wines are Macià Batle, Antonio Nadal, José Luis Ferrer, Celler Tianna Negre o Miquel Gelabert.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join a tasting session, a guided tour or the opportunity to purchase some wine at one of the island’s 70 plus wineries. Mallorca wine tourism is one of the island’s attractions that definitely shouldn’t be missed.
