Canyoning
Canyoning is one of Mallorca’s sporting activities par excellence, and it can be enjoyed by experts and complete beginners.
There are many companies in Mallorca that organise canyoning excursions. One of those companies is Mon d’ Aventura, located in Pollença, offering three difficulty levels. The first route, known as Coanegra Canyon or Es Freu, is perfect for those who want to try the sport for the first time. The route lasts around 4 to 5 hours and covers a total of 7 kilometres. The minimum recommended age is 10 years, so this route is perfect for younger children who want to try out different jumps and water chutes.
The next route is Es Llí Ravine, one of the most impressive with views of the sea. The minimum age on this route is 16 years as it involves various waterfalls, one of which reaches 54 metres in height. This route is located very close to the pretty village of Valldemossa.
The last option is the Gorg Blau and Sa Fosca canyon. Located near to Escorca, this is considered one of the most spectacular canyons in Europe. It is rated as difficult and is only recommended for experts. The route takes 9 hours in total and two of those hours are in complete darkness.
